Groundnuts are members of the legume family. They were first domesticated in the Paraguay Valley. It is a plant with a height of 30 to 50 cm. Groundnuts, also called peanuts, look like small brownish-red beans with a smooth, oily texture. It has a sweet, nutty flavour and is often used in baking and cooking.
